      ONE ROOM DESIGN ADVICE:

Virtually or In-Person:  This is where I encourage everyone to start because many people will find it’s all they need.

It starts with a free full consultation. We’ll talk about your wish list and discuss what you’ve already done and where you’re hesitating. Along the way, we’ll explore your likes and dislikes too! It’s all about you, kid.

Then you send me a few videos of your room.

At the end of all that, I’ll send you back a big list of ideas, pictures and links that will help you transform your space all on your own!

I may ask you for some extra details depending on the space, like getting some measurements, for example. Customized for your needs and dreams.

This is the best ways to get the confidence you need to move forward.

      -$495 (happiness guaranteed!)

      A-LA-CARTE:

Virtual or In-home can get even more detailed! We can focus in on the small stuff together and take everything in chunks when it works for you.

Help is a call away for going deeper with window treatments, lighting, tile, layout, furniture, bookcase decor, art, countertops, faucets, flooring, rugs, wallpaper, paint and oh so much more.

-$150 per hour (5 minute increments, happiness guaranteed!)

        FAQ’s

        Plus some not-so-frequently asked questions

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "HAPPINESS GUARANTEE"?
I guarantee that you’ll be happy with the information you get. If not, then you don’t pay me.
Or you only pay me the amount that feels right to you.
            Zero risk.
            I don’t want your money if you’re disappointed. Really, I don’t.
WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT? AND HOW CAN YOU SAVE ME MONEY?

Two questions for the price of one! Hah!

My advice is customized to your needs. Not everyone needs a layout, or a list of furniture, or ideas on backsplash tiles. So you save money because you get targeted advice you need and none of the advice you don’t need.

You take my advice and run with it, so you have all the control.  You can find the best deals, buy when it works for your budget, and get back in touch with me if you need help along the way.

WHY DON'T YOU HAVE MORE PHOTOS ON YOUR WEBSITE?

Oh, man, I knew you were going to ask that. Sigh.

I could tell you stories. Here’s one:

Once upon a time, I helped design a million dollar room. No kidding. An 11-foot limestone fireplace, a 9-foot aquarium, a built-in theatre experience, and more. Every inch of that room was custom, down to the doors and cabinetry. Unfortunately, my clients had a ton of health issues (in fact, the husband died!), and the wife sold the house before I could get photos. Sad, sad, sad, sad.

It’s surprising how many projects don’t get finished, or people move. And when I have gotten photos, the rooms are in half-finished states. And my photography is TERRIBLE.

Frankly, word of mouth and repeat business is booming, so I’m not that concerned.

I could dig around and see what I’ve got to show if you’re curious. But really, it doesn’t matter.

Why not? Because I have a happiness guarantee.

I bet my own precious time that you’ll be thrilled. If it turns out it’s only worth $10 to you, then you can pay me $10. Simple as that.

          WHAT IS YOUR DESIGN STYLE?

My design style is YOUR design style. In other words, I find out what style you like and help you make that happen. I’ve done lots of styles:

Mid-century modern (Yes, I’ve known me some Eichlers!)

French country (Ooh la la + roosters)

Hollywood regency (Glam meets high style comfort)

Classic / Traditional (Great trim + great curves + timeless appeal)

Transitional (An eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary)

          Contemporary (Streamline with impact)

          Bohemian (Funky fun!)

          Asian Zen (Think Japanesque)

          Farmhouse (Cows n oinkers)

          Coastal (Feel the breeze)

          Tech Dude (Geek meets sleek)

          Hygge (Danish without the jelly)

          Kids (Small’ns up to teens)

Basic living (good design doesn’t have to be any specific style)

Messy artist (see my connect page for evidence)

          DO YOU HELP BUSINESSES TOO?

I’m primarily a residential designer, but I help brick and mortar businesses on occasion.

          • I designed a donut shop in Los Altos (it’s since been sold and changed).
          • I gave a sandwich shop owner in San Jose some helpful tips (they already had a pretty good start).
          • I’ve bantered around ideas with a bar owner, and a restauranteur, both in San Jose.
          • I’ve helped a dentist in San Jose and a reconstructive surgeon in Cupertino.
          • I’ve given advice to a private massage therapist for her massage room in San Jose.
          • And I’ve given advice for displays to a clothing store owner in Sunnyvale (no longer there).

I’m happy to help where I can! Give me a call.

WHAT DOES "5-MINUTE INCREMENTS" MEAN ON YOUR A-LA-CARTE?

Oh! It means that I round up to the 5 minute mark when we’re working together a-la carte. In other words, if we worked for 17 minutes, I’d ask you to pay me for 20 minutes.

This means you don’t have to pay for a whole hour!

WHAT IF I DON'T LIVE CLOSE BY?

You’re in luck when it comes to my one room design advice. You can get a lot of information on what to do next and consider ideas you’ve never thought of.

Many of my clients are happy with getting valuable information through phone, videos, skype, or facetime, even when they live in my own neighborhood.

Hmmm…does that mean I should check my underarm deodorant?

          I’m in San Jose, California.

Most of my clients are in the south bay, silicon valley area, but I’ve been known to travel for in-person visits with special arrangements.

          OVER OR UNDER?

          Over.

          And I can explain why.

Call me if you want to discuss this very important topic.

I’m super happy. Everything has been going really well!”

          -Ken T, San Jose, CA

“You’re so flexible with your time when we make appointments to meet, which is great.”
